ABOUT THE COLLEGE

Laguna Technical College is a private educational institution incorporated in the State of California and is approved to operate by the Bureau for Private Post- secondary and Vocational Education pursuant to California Education Code Section 94718. The Bureau’s approval means that the institution and its operations are in compliance with state standards and does not imply any endorsement or recommendation by the Bureau.

Institutional approval must be re-approved and is subject to continuing review.

Prospective students are encouraged to visit the physical facilities of the school and discuss personal, educational, and occupational plans with school personnel prior to enrolling or signing enrollment agreements.

Rhonda Anderson-Culton M.A.

Rhonda Culton has worked in the field of child-development for over 17 years. She holds a BA Degree in Child Development and a MA degree in Human Development. Mrs. Rhonda has over 45 units in Child-Development. Over her course of job experiences, she has worked as a pre-school teacher, Director, Special needs infant teacher, Sunday School Teacher, Pre-school Consultant and currently a Part-time Child-development Professor for Long Beach City College, Riverside Community College and presently Laguna Tech College.

Rhonda has worked for Laguna Tech College for over 5 years. She enjoys the excitement and interaction that her adult students give. Rhonda states that, her greatest joy is helping her adult students discover their gift in the field of education.

Rhonda owns and operates her own In–home Family Childcare/Preschool. She never expected to start her own childcare out of her home but it has been a wonderful journey. Rhonda believes that she is doing exactly what God has called her to do; serve children & their families.

Yvette Michelle Flores M.A.

Yvette Michelle Flores M.A. has been a Child Development instructor for Laguna Technical College for over 4 years, teaching all the courses offered. She has over 24 years experience working in the childcare field, in which she served as a preschool teacher, assistant director and director. Yvette is also a certified trainer for PITC, Program for Infant Toddler Caregivers with WEST ED. She is also a certificate Director Mentor. Her passion is training, mentoring and consulting preschool directors and teachers, which is the reason why she started her own business “In Our Hands” which is located in West Covina. In Our Hands focuses on bringing new ideas, positive energy and passion into the preschools and making changes on child and teacher at a time.

Yvette has a B.A. from California State University Los Angeles in Child Development, with a minor in English and a Masters of Arts in Human Development with a specialization in infant/toddler development and a specialization in leadership and education and human services and a sub specialization in adult/college teaching from Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena.
