Dana Point Montessori is growing, and our tiniest learners are leading the way! We are thrilled to be launching our Infant Program and are looking for joyful, nurturing Lead Educators who love cuddles, curiosity, and those magical first milestones. If you’re someone who finds joy in supporting babies as they discover the world and believes that even the youngest children deserve respect, consistency, and meaningful learning experiences, we’d love to meet you.

As a Lead Infant Educator, you’ll create a warm, responsive classroom environment, build strong relationships with families, and collaborate closely with a supportive teaching team. You’ll lead a classroom of 8 infants with the help of assistant teachers, ensuring a safe, compliant, and lovingly prepared space where children and teachers can truly thrive.

Previous experience as a Lead or Head Teacher in an Infant or Toddler classroom is a plus, but most importantly, we’re looking for someone who shares our deep passion for caring for little ones and celebrating every small (and big!) moment along the way.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate Degree
  • Credential: At least 12 ECE units, Infants 3 Units
  • Experience: Proven experience as a lead infant teacher
  • Other: CPR & First Aid, health screening, required immunizations

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Supervise infants at all times and follow strict infant safety protocols such as safe sleep guidelines, sanitizing toys, bottle prep etc.
  • Monitor health needs, including feeding, diapering, naps, and comfort care.
  • Follow emergency procedures and first aid when necessary.
  • Preparing, creating, organizing and cleaning the classroom environment and materials daily.
  • Consistently communicating student progress or concerns with parents, administration, and other staff when appropriate.
  • Communicate effectively and peacefully with students, assistant teachers, administration, and other staff members.
  • Assist and maintain a peaceful and mindful learning environment for students.
  • Consistently present Montessori materials to students and track progress.
  • Observe student behaviors and step in when appropriate.
  • Submit and maintain student records.
  • Model gentle, respectful, and responsive caregiving.

Other duties as assigned Job Requirements Include:

  • Maintain daily communication with families about routines, milestones, and concerns (verbally and in writing, such as daily sheets or parent apps).
  • Ability to commit to schedule, demonstrating reliability and punctuality.
  • Participate in required professional development and training programs throughout the year.
  • Attend and participate in meetings and training when needed.
  • Comfortable with receiving feedback from other teacher and administration.
  • Willing to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 35lbs.
  • Ability to move from seated to standing position quickly to attend to student’s needs.
  • Ability to pass a background check and TB test.
  • Ability to provide references.
  • Warm, calm, flexible, and professional demeanor.
  • Team player attitude.

Our school is open Monday to Friday 7:30-5:30pm, Monday to Friday
